Are stories dying?

When the characters speak to you, you can’t tell them to stay quiet and come back when called. In the classroom of writing, this doesn’t work. The characters simply leave. You can go running after them, but you have to be lucky to be able to catch them when gone! I too, just like any other writer, give in to their demands. I write when they ask me too. I am worried about the stories and characters that are soon leaving us, as we get caught in the world of social media trends.
